Armour's enamel display plinth
A rare butchers shop enamel display plinth, produced to advertise and showcase 'Armour's canned hams, ox tongues & corned beef'.
Early to mid 20th century, the plinth is made of enamel on steel much like signs of the era, with reinforced corners and cast steel feet on the underside. Each of the long edges are emblazoned with bold black typography.
An unusual and scarce piece with a distinctly art deco feel, the stepped cutaways on each end are complimented by pronounced angular feet on the corners, each braced by a polished steel cap.

Lovely original condition with some old chips to the enamel which have also rusted slightly, along with tarnish to the corner braces and some other age related wear and marks.
