Large antique stoneware egg jar - Price, Bristol.
A large and impressive Victorian stoneware egg preservation jar, with an under glaze 'Eggs' transfer and embossed with the Price - Bristol makers mark.
A well used and very heavy utilitarian piece from the turn of the century, with some hardened deposits of the sodium silicate based preservative still coating the inside.

Very good original condition with no damage. Some firing marks and usage wear commensurate with age, along with some deposits of preservative on the inside and some streaks running down the sides.
