Large vintage ceramic ‘Cochon Olida’ advertising pig
A quirky mid 20thC French display pig, used in boucheries and charcuteries to advertise Olida Pâté & Jambon.
Wonderfully moulded in ceramic to appear as if the pig has his hindquarters stuck in a wooden bucket, with coloured tin glaze giving it detail and a deep majolica like lustre.
*The second picture (group shot) best represents the actual pink colour of the pig, which is difficult to capture in a photograph.
34.3cm long (13-1/2")
19cm wide (7-1/2")
12.7cm tall (5")
Glaze crazing and minor wear, but perfect otherwise with no chips or cracks.
