Small antique enamel sign 'Brittain Pash Chelmsford' - Antique enamel plaque
A diminutive antique enamel makers plaque for 'Brittain Pash, Chelmsford', an agricultural engineering firm who would attach these little signs to their machinery or installations.
Joseph Brittain Pash established the business in 1867 as an agricultural implement makers, a celebrated businessman, he also founded Essex industrial school in Chelmsford.
The plaque has wonderful stylised bold black lettering, arched around a central scrolling rococo motif.
Chips to the enamel on each side around the mounting holes, along with nibbling and rusty wear elsewhere. A decorative little sign with lovely character.
