About Us

Based in Cambridgeshire UK, Curio Cartel is an online antique shop run by Carl & Megan, a young couple who share a passion for antiques & curiosities, history, travel, and brocante hunting across the continent.

With a formative background in antique furniture restoration & french polishing, Carl has been buying and selling all manner of antiques full time since his mid 20's. After several years of travelling around the UK and Europe on the trade fair circuit, he created Curio Cartel in 2017 as a way of offering stock to a wider audience online.

A Dutch national (but Belgian at heart!), Megan had her own taxidermy business after studying in the USA, with work featured internationally on TV, in publications and purchased by museums and collectors alike. After living all over Europe and meeting Carl in France, she decided to move to the UK to join him in the business of buying and selling beautiful things.

Specialising in rare & often unique decorative antiques and catering for most budgets, they travel across Europe sourcing the best pieces they can from a wide network of associates and contacts, scouring the UK along with regular trips to France, Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands.

"With a particular focus on quality kitchenalia and advertising in the past few years, we are proud to be one of the foremost resources for antique white ironstone shop display slabs, dairy pails, advertising pots and transfer-ware. We don't limit ourselves to one style or subject though, we buy & sell pieces that we love and would happily live with in our own home"

Along with private collectors and those looking to add to their home decor, Curio Cartel's clients include interior designers, prop buyers, museums, restaurateurs, retailers and the antique trade. All items carry a guarantee of authenticity and we never stock reproductions or fakes. We offer safe and secure global shipping on most items and wholesale prices for multiple purchases. We have much more stock available at our showroom in the east of England (open by appointment only), so get in touch if you're searching for that special something.
