Victorian oval white ironstone potted meat pot - S. Ellis Confectioner, Retford

An antique oval white ironstone potted meat pot, decorated with a scarce black under glaze transfer for S. Ellis, Confectioner. Retford.

Condition:
The pot looks as if it has been in two, with the back left side broken off in one piece and reglued. It has not been restored, but is sound with the two pieces flush and some tiny areas of filling, so it still displays nicely. There are some wear and stain marks with crazing beneath, but the face of the pot is quite clean a looks good on the shelf.
An opportunity to own a rarer potted meat pot at an A/F price.
