Antique Skaife’s Superior Potted Meat’s pot

A rare antique oval potted meat pot, made of white ironstone pottery and decorated with a beautiful black advertising transfer for Skaife’s Superior Potted Meats - Price One Shilling.
An early and relatively large example, with a slightly skewed strike of the transfer which utilises both bold and stylised typography, along with a pictorial profile of a man and a fancy border.

Condition:
Small surface hairlines - one under the foot on the front side, and a couple on the rim on the back side.
Crazing and staining is present commensurate with age, along with some light marks and wear. A rare pot in very presentable condition.
