Thorley's animal feeds silver plated bonbon tray
A rare silver plated bonbon dish, with elaborate chasing, a swing handle, four bun feet and engraved with 'Thorley's Special Prize'.
Presented as prizes at agricultural shows in the late 19th/early 20thC, Joseph Thorley of Thorley's animal feeds commissioned a variety of silver plated awards engraved with 'Thorley's Special Prize', including trophies, tea services, cruet sets and various other plated items. A particularly decorative and useful example, no other records of Thorley's bonbon dish prizes can be found making this quite scarce.
