Antique wooden tramp art sewing box
A delightful antique tramp art wooden sewing box, with a hinged lid and two pin cushions on top. A well made example with a lock, escutcheon and metal looped carrying handle, it is chip carved with all of the characteristic tramp art design elements of layered notches in geometric patterns. The front edge of the lid has remnants of the original box stamp from which it was made, likely a cigar box or wooden storage crate.

Condition:
No key for the lock. Each geometric shape has a rounded capping piece on the top layer, which is missing from a couple of the elements around the box, but this does not overly detract. Some wear marks and little knocks commensurate with age.

Postage to P.O. boxes must be enquired about before purchase as many shippers do not deliver to them.
